𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀? Is silver a good investment?
Is silver a good investment? When I first started this journey back in 2012, I began with silver. Fast forward today, I have diversified into gold along side silver. But if you are wondering about this question for some time, allow me to share with you some thoughts for my Mentor.
According to Tuan Mohd Zulkifli Shafie (www.mohdzulkiflishafie.com), the price of silver is relatively low and suitable for purchase as long-term savings. The gold:silver ratio (GSR) at the moment is 1:79.
What does it mean for silver?
It means that 1kg of gold is comparable to 79kg of silver.
In the past 15 years, the highest price silver has touched is at 1:30 (in 2011) while the cheapest it has gone to was at 1:120 (in 2020). This was observed once in 15 years.
A ratio of 1:80 on the other hand, was observed four times in 15 years.
Is silver a good investment? Any strategies to consider?
Hence, is this a good time to buy silver? Looking at the ratio, it is indeed a good opportunity.
The following can be a strategy to consider:
1. Buy silver when the GSR is at 1:80 and when it becomes 1:40, we can sell off all our silver holdings and convert them into 2kg of gold, or
2. Sell 40kg of silver and buy 1kg of gold. Keep the balance of 40kg of silver for future opportunities.
This way, both gold and silver can help us achieve ultimate financial freedom. It's a matter of which strategy to use. Hope this helps.
